Working with nature

Dedicated weather stations help our growers determine how best to work with nature. Using the Pipfruit New Zealand website, growers log into an extensive network of weather stations throughout New Zealand. These bring real time and forecast advice on weather conditions that influence fruit production throughout the growing cycle.

This service links growers with detailed predictive models that assist enhancement of our impressive range of biocontrol programmes. These programmes work to assist grower decision making for low input production and the resulting fruit being safe and healthy to eat.

New Zealand’s long hours of warm sunshine, high light intensity and ample rainfall ensure the New Zealand crop is high in health giving nutrients, fibre, antioxidants, vitamins and other ‘goodies’ that form the basis of the old adage “…an apple a day keeps the doctor away”
